The outstanding performance of NQAD comes from its core component, the Water Condensation Particle Counter (WCPC)

Brief description of the working principle of NQAD:

  1. The elution solution of the chromatographic column is atomized inside NQAD (①)
  2. Volatile components are evaporated, and residual components form particle clusters (②)
  3. Each particle absorbs water vapor, forming a water condensation body, and the droplets increase the particle size to the μ m level (③ - ⑤)
  4. When each water condensate passes through the detection area, it emits pulsed scattered light under laser irradiation, and counts the pulses (⑥)

To conduct testing

WCPC feature description:

  1. The droplet size of the test substance increases, the monitoring sensitivity is improved, and the dynamic monitoring range is expanded
  2. The pulse count value is linearly related to the number of water condensates formed by the test substance
  3. The response signal value is only related to the quantity of water condensation, that is, it is only related to the mass of the test substance and has nothing to do with the chemical properties of the test substance

The Aerosol Laser Counting Detector (NQAD) is suitable for:

  1. Substances without UV absorption
  2. Substances that are difficult to ionize
  3. Substances without electrochemical activity
  4. Substances with unknown properties

For example: amino acids, sugars, plant medicines, polymers, chemical drugs, esters, cholesterol, ions, surfactants, amines, proteins, etc

The oligomer distribution of polyethylene glycol (PEG, average molecular weight 4000) was determined using CAPCELL CORE MP S2.7 (2.1 mm i.d. x 50 mm). Using NQAD detector, a chromatogram can be obtained to characterize the mass distribution.
